Blueprint manuscript map showing the location of Indians and soldiers in the 7th and 9th U.S. Cavalry at the time of the skirmish between them about six miles northwest of the Pine Ridge Agency near the Drexel Catholic Mission on December 30, 1890, the day after the Wounded Knee Massacre, near Wounded Knee, South Dakota. The map shows the "position of troops when Indians began to retreat; the crest of ridges 600 feet above creek; scrub oak and brushwood along creek; and pine in draws." Verso is stamped U.S. Engineer Office, Chicago, Ill., with June 13 [18]91 in manuscript, and stamped F. Mayer & Co. Blue & Black Prints, Chicago Ill.
